The Pontiac G6 is a mid-size car that was produced by General Motors under the Pontiac brand. It was introduced in 2004 for the 2005 model year to replace the Grand Am . The G6 shared the GM Epsilon platform with the Chevrolet Malibu , Saab 9-3 , and other General Motors vehicles.
The Chevrolet Malibu, Pontiac G6, and Saturn Aura came equipped with this engine for 2007 (previously, the Malibu and G6 had the non-VVT 201 hp (150 kW) 3.5 L LX9). In 2008, the SAE horsepower rating was dropped to 219 hp (163 kW), keeping torque as is. On Pontiac G6 convertible models, horsepower was rated at 217 hp (162 kW). Applications:
2008 was the Pontiac Grand Prix's last model year. For 2008, Pontiac did not offer the GT trim, but continued to offer both a base and GXP trim. The base trim was offered with 16 in (41 cm) wheels. The 2008 GXP used alcoa knockoff wheels with silver center caps. Several new colors were also added for the 2008 model year.
The G8 GT averages a fuel economy of 15/24 mpg (city/highway). A 6-speed manual was being considered as an option on the GT model, but Pontiac decided against offering it, stating that it would instead be offered as an option on the G8 GXP. One change in 2009 was the deletion of the center stack oil pressure and voltage gauges.

Pontiac G5. The Pontiac G5 was a rebadged version of the Chevrolet Cobalt. In Canada, a rebadged variant of the Cobalt called the Pontiac Pursuit was sold from 2005 to 2006 as a sedan only. In 2006, another version of the vehicle was released in Canada, now called the Pontiac G5 Pursuit, and it was now available as both a sedan and a coupe.
