Marie Windsor (born Emily Marie Bertelsen; December 11, 1919 – December 10, 2000) [1] [2] was an American actress known for her femme fatale characters in the classic film noir features Force of Evil, The Narrow Margin and The Killing. Windsor's height (5'9", 175 cm) created problems for her in scenes with all but the tallest actors.
The Killing is a 1956 American film noir directed by Stanley Kubrick and produced by James B. Harris. [4] It was written by Kubrick and Jim Thompson and based on Lionel White's novel Clean Break. It stars Sterling Hayden, Coleen Gray, and Vince Edwards, and features Marie Windsor, Elisha Cook Jr., Jay C. Flippen and Timothy Carey. [1]
The miniseries also features Elisha Cook Jr. as Weasel Philips and Marie Windsor as Eva Miller, two characters in a relationship. This casting was an inside joke by producer Kobritz, a fan of Stanley Kubrick; Cook and Windsor previously played a couple in Kubrick's The Killing (1956). [1]
