    Work out perfectly and I just trim them to the amount of spaces in the panel. With the side wings folded over backwards, it fits in a 4" wide clear sleeve and you can see the basic info such as breaker size, equipment name. There is room for more info like room numbers, downstream disconnects, etc on the wings.

    Move it in an up and down motion adding water when necessary so the rod will not stick. Continue until rod is almost all the way down and tamp the rest of the way with a hammer.     But, I don't have time for pounding and hurting my hands anymore. What is the minimum ft/lbs and amps for a roto-hammer or demo-hammer, that you experienced electricians recommend for driving 8' ground rods. I am looking at Bosch roto-hammer, 10 amps, 5.4 ft/lbs of driving force. Or, Harbor Freight Demo-hammer, 10 amps, 9 ft/lbs of driving force.

They had a ground rod driver that they used with a electric Jack hammer. It would slide up on the rod but would grab on the rod going down. Worked slick driving 20' sections of ground rod.

    Fast and easy that way, and, of course, P&L. Yeah the old days. A couple of 4" common nails, hammer for height, smack the nails in. Big nails, big hammer. Don't do that anymore. Screw gun has taken over long ago. Now measure, and a couple of 1" drywall screws. << :thumbsup:

    Since the riser runs thru the panel replacing the enclosure is a real challange. I read some where that there were replacement guts made by cutler hammer, for federal pacific panels but never heard of something for pushmatic. The home inspection firm quoted a price of 900 , I laughed the job is in center city phila. Pa. with parking issues ect.
