Ponmudi [1] (the Golden Peak) is a hill station in the Peringamala gramapanchayath of Thiruvananthapuram district of Kerala in India.It is located 22km west of Vithura town, 53 km north-east of Thiruvananthapuram City, 78 km south-east of Varkala town and 69 km north-east of Kovalam Beach at an altitude of 1,100 m (3,600 ft).

Beautiful tourist place in there including Ponmudi, Mankayam, Brimore, etc. Festival Palod Mela also there.
Ponmudi view in Varayadumotta. It stands about a height of about 1100 m. Varying elevation and peculiar shape of these hill is unique in the world. It is a protected mountain ridge situated in between Ponmudi hills, Palode (Brimore) hills and Kallar valley. It includes 13 peaks and the second peak is the highest peak in Varayadumotta.
The Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary is situated on Thiruvananthapuram-Ponmudi Road, about 50 km northeast of Thiruvananthapuram.The area is hilly, with elevation varying from 100 metres (330 ft) to 1,717 metres (5,633 ft).
Kallar is 45 km from Thiruvananthapuram, while the town of Ponmudi is a further 15 km away. The Vamanapuram River flows through the town. [2] Torrential rain can raise the level of the river and sweep away things that come in its way; recently, several dental college students of Trivandrum died in flash floods.
Thiruvananthapuram is a major tourist centre, known for the Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the beaches of Kovalam and Varkala, the backwaters of Poovar and Anchuthengu and its Western Ghats tracts of Ponmudi and the Agastya Mala.
