Jiraiya succeeds and sends his discovery to Naruto and the rest of Konoha, yet dies from his injuries. Elsewhere, Sasuke meets with Itachi, leaving Hebi behind to deal with Itachi's partner Kisame. As Naruto and his group near their location, Tobi steps in to stall them so that the two brothers can fight uninhibited.
On their way, Sasuke's team is intercepted by a shadow clone of Naruto, which Sasuke easily dispatches. The real Naruto quickly sends his team after Sasuke, but they are stopped by Tobi. Meanwhile, Team Hebi is confronted by Kisame who won't let anyone but Sasuke pass. Sasuke carries on while his team, specifically Suigetsu, faces Kisame.
Determined to kill Itachi and avenge the Uchiha clan, Sasuke rushes out to find Naruto, though he discovers that Naruto has already left the village with Jiraiya.
