The demo version of Arma 2 was released on Bohemia Interactive forums on 25 June 2009, and shortly thereafter on Steam. Bohemia Interactive founder Marek Španěl aspired to become a game developer in the 1980s, after his brother was convinced to buy a TI-99/4A computer.
