South Carolina Ballet, formerly The Columbia City Ballet, was founded in 1961 by Ann Brodie, [2] a former dancer with the Radio City Music Hall Ballet. [3] The company was rebranded as South Carolina Ballet in 2023 to reflect its statewide focus.
It was built in 1988, and has 2,256 saleable seats. The center is the home of the Columbia City Ballet, and the South Carolina Philharmonic, and host the School of Music's large ensemble concerts. [2]
