The early version of "Down Under" has a slightly slower tempo and different arrangement from the later Columbia release. [10] The best-known version was then released on Columbia in 1981 as the second single from Men at Work's debut studio album Business as Usual.
The album is a career-retrospective for Hay: he is best known as the lead singer for the 1980s Australian pop band Men at Work, and roughly half of the songs on this album are Hay's solo studio renderings of works from the Men at Work catalog, while several others are remixes or re-recordings of material from his solo albums.
He contributed to all three Men at Work studio albums. He wrote or co-wrote many of their songs, including " Down Under " which appears on their first album Business as Usual . He sings lead vocals on "Settle Down My Boy", one of his self composed songs on their second album Cargo .
