In 2012, Del Rey signed a joint record deal with Interscope and Polydor Records and released her second studio album, Born to Die, which contained "Video Games". [13] Born to Die peaked at number two on the US Billboard 200 and topped albums charts of Australia and many European countries.
Del Rey followed Born to Die with an EP called Paradise in November 2012. The EP featured a cover of the song " Blue Velvet ", written by Bernie Wayne and Lee Morris, and a re-recording of "Yayo". The rest of the songs were written by Del Rey with contributions by Justin Parker, Rick Nowels, Emile Haynie, Tim Larcombe and Dan Heath.

The tour began on November 4, 2011, at The Ruby Lounge in Manchester , England [ 1 ] and ended on September 25, 2012, at the Roundhouse in London, England. [ 2 ]
