Hair multiplication, or hair cloning, is a proposed technique to counter hair loss.The technology is in its early stages, but multiple groups have demonstrated pieces of the technology at a small scale, with a few in commercial development.
Research on these follicular stem cells may lead to successes in treating baldness through hair multiplication (HM), also known as hair cloning. Per a May 2015 review, no successful strategy to generate human hair follicles, for hair regrowth, from adult stem cells has yet been reported. [ 99 ]
Since hair naturally grows in groupings of 1 to 4 hairs, current techniques harvest and transplant hair "follicular units" in their natural groupings.
