A Muppet Family Christmas is a Christmas musical television special starring Jim Henson's Muppets. It first aired on December 16, 1987, on the ABC television network in the United States. Its teleplay was conceived by longtime Muppet writer Jerry Juhl , and directed by Peter Harris and Eric Till (the latter of whom was uncredited).
In 1986, Goelz played Rugby Tiger in The Christmas Toy, later reprising the role in The Secret Life of Toys. In 1989, Goelz performed Digit in The Jim Henson Hour. [11] Following Henson's death in 1990, and with Oz focusing more on directing, Goelz's role as Gonzo gained increased prominence, beginning with The Muppet Christmas Carol.
Muppets from various productions, including The Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Sam and Friends, as well as characters from Fraggle Rock such as Uncle Traveling Matt and Sprocket, convened to commemorate their thirtieth anniversary through a celebratory banquet.
