John Joseph Theodore Rzeznik (/ ˈ r ɛ z n ɪ k /; born December 5, 1965) is an American musician, singer, songwriter, and producer.He is best known as the guitarist and frontman of the rock band Goo Goo Dolls, with whom he has recorded several chart-topping hits, including "Iris", "Slide", and "Name".
The band's original lineup included John Rzeznik (guitar, vocals), Robby Takac (bass, vocals), and George Tutuska (drums, percussion). Takac and Tutuska had been long-time friends in school and met Rzeznik while he was playing in the band The Beaumonts with Takac's cousin, Paul Takac, and close friend Michael Harvey who was the inspiration for the band. A music video was created that featured a young man in front of changing scenery all the while Rzeznik is appearing alongside him. The young man and Rzeznik are seen running throughout the video towards Treasure Planet and away from the young man's arguing parents; Scroop, one of the villains from the movie, in silhouette; and the destruction of the planet.

It was released as a single from their sixth studio album, Dizzy Up the Girl (1998), in February 1999. In Japan, an extended play (EP) titled Dizzy EP was released featuring this song as well as others from previous albums.
