South Carolina Highway 82 (SC 82) was a state highway that was established in 1928 on a path from SC 20 (now SC 28 just east-southeast of Lethia (and northwest of McCormick) to SC 81 in Starr. It traveled through Mount Carmel, Calhoun Falls, and Lowndesville. In 1949, it was decommissioned; most of its path was redesignated as SC 81.

It travels in a fairly east-southeasterly direction. It crosses over Lucas Creek before it intersects SC 187. The highway crosses over Big Generostee and Generostee creeks.
SC 181 begins at the Georgia state line at a point southwest of Starr, within Anderson County, where the roadway crosses over the Savannah River and continues as Georgia State Route 181 (Smith-McGee Highway). It travels to the northeast and has a brief concurrency with SC 187. The highway continues to the northeast and enters Starr.
