Montpelier Wildlife Management Area at 2,158 acres (8.73 km 2) is an Idaho wildlife management area in Bear Lake County east of the town of Montpelier. [1] The WMA consists of land owned by the Idaho Department of Fish and Game (IDFG) and Bureau of Land Management and Idaho Department of Lands property managed by IDFG.
The county seat is Paris, [2] and Montpelier is the largest city. The county is named after Bear Lake , a large alpine lake at an elevation of 5,924 feet (1,806 m) above sea level . The northern half of the 20-mile-long (32 km) lake is in Idaho, the southern half in Utah .

The city is the largest community in the Bear Lake Valley, a farming region north of Bear Lake in southeastern Idaho along the Utah border.
