Each entry begins with the footnote label in plain text. The entire reference list is formatted in a slightly smaller font. Each successive footnote label is automatically incremented. Thus the first footnote marker would be [1], the second would be [2] and so on. Custom labels are also incremented: [a] [b] [c], [Note 1] [Note 2] [Note 3].
Bundling is also useful if the sources each support a different portion of the preceding text, or if the sources all support the same text. Bundling has several advantages: It helps readers and other editors see at a glance which source supports which point, maintaining text–source integrity.

This is the only mandatory parameter for a {{ref}} and {{note}} couple, which can be used to add simple footnotes.
