Principal Bob Flutie, portrayed by Ken Lerner (season 1): the principal of Sunnydale High at the start of the series. He allowed Buffy to attend his school despite learning of the arson that got her expelled from her last school. He kept tabs on her to prevent any mischief. He was killed and devoured by a group of hyena-like beings.
Kenneth Lerner (born May 27, 1948) is an American television, stage and film actor. He is known for playing Principal Flutie in the first episodes of the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and earlier roles on Happy Days, along with numerous film and television guest-starring roles.
Buffy Summers begins her first day at Berryman High School, where she meets Principal Flutie, Xander Harris, Willow, and the British librarian, Mr. Giles. After class, Willow and Buffy walk through the school. Buffy asks her about the librarian. Willow says that Mr. Giles is new, "from some British museum".
Principal Flutie chases a small pig through the school halls until Buffy picks it up. He introduces him as Herbert, the new school mascot for the Sunnydale Razorbacks. As Flutie talks to Buffy about the students lacking school spirit, Xander walks past, and Herbert suddenly starts squealing. Buffy notices Herbert's reaction.
On her way there, Buffy stops by her house to get weapons and is promptly grounded by her mother, who has been called by Principal Flutie about Buffy skipping classes. Buffy grabs her weapons from a secret compartment in a chest and climbs out of her bedroom window.
Robin's easygoing attitude and confidence are presented in sharp contrast to the previous high school principal characters depicted as nervous (Principal Flutie) and excessively disciplinarian (Principal Snyder), making him a well-liked educator among the students, alumns, and faculty members.
