There is an alleged picture of the dog, from 1999, where its paws appear of a different colour. Its possibly an exageration from the owner, and the dog was possibly old but younger than 31. However, I would like to point that the official certified Guinness record is from a Australian shepherd dog who lived until 29 years old (1910-1939).
