J. J. Abrams' Star Trek series takes place in a parallel universe starting in 2233 (James T. Kirk's birth year), known as the "Kelvin timeline" for the fact it was created when the late twenty-fourth century Romulan Nero destroyed the USS Kelvin, on which Kirk's parents served.
Of the 55 crew members killed in the series, twenty-four were wearing red shirts, compared to fifteen who had unconfirmed shirt colors, nine in gold shirts, and seven in blue shirts. [5] [6] The Star Trek: Deep Space Nine book Legends of the Ferengi says Starfleet security personnel "rarely survive beyond the second act break". [7]

Redshirt Blues was first shown in the 2000 Boston Film Festival, which The Boston Phoenix reporter Mike Miliard reviewed as a "great Star Trek parody". [1] It was also screened at the 2000 Pacific Palisades Film Festival, [2] 2001 Nodance Film Festival, [3] and shown on a special Star Trek episode of Sci Fi Channel's short film television series Exposure on September 16, 2001.

I think this page should not be about speculations about the ST universe. 84.0.117.17 15:35, 20 December 2008 (UTC)
