RTS 1 (Serbian: РТС 1, romanized: RTS 1), known as RTS Program One (Serbian: Први програм РТС-а, romanized: Prvi program RTS-a), or Prvi (Serbian: Први), is a Serbian television channel that is part of Radio Television of Serbia (RTS). It was established on August 23, 1958 as the first television station in Serbia.
RTS 1 is the oldest television station in Serbia, launched on 23 August 1958 as Televizija Beograd. It is available nationally free-to-air and is the most watched television channel in the country beating the other two most popular television networks in Serbia, RTV Pink and Prva. [31]
Serbia has a total of 7 national free-to-air channels, which can be viewed throughout the country. These are RTS 1, RTS 2 and RTS 3 from the country’s public network Radio Television of Serbia, as well as private channels TV2, Prva, B92, Pink and Happy. These free-to-air channels require a subscription, which is paid via the electricity bill.
RTV BK Telecom was on the cusp of new technologies. It was the first TV station in Serbia to start broadcasting on the internet by making selected news programmes available for download and streaming on their website. It eventually introduced the BK Player, a media player designed to play BK TV program live on the Internet 24 hours a day.
