State Route 129 (SR 129) is a 20.0-mile-long (32.2 km) state highway that travels southeast-to-northwest through portions of Evans, Tattnall, and Candler counties in the east-central part of the U.S. state of Georgia. It connects the towns of Claxton and Metter.

The Evans County Courthouse is a historic government building and clock tower located in the city of Claxton, Georgia, United States, the seat of Evans County. [2] The courthouse was built in 1923 and is the home of Evans County's Superior Court and the base of the county's government.
The highway continues to the north, intersects SR 169 Spur, and curves to the northeast. Almost immediately is SR 129 , and then the Canoochee River . SR 169 continues to the northeast until it meets its northern terminus, an intersection with US 25 / US 301 / SR 73 , northeast of Claxton .
From Vidalia west to a point near Preston, Georgia is still operated by the Heart of Georgia Railroad. On February 7, 2017, Genesee & Wyoming purchased the Heart of Georgia (who also owns the Georgia Central Railway). [16] The line is still in place from Preston west to Mahrt, Alabama, but that segment is out of service. [17]
