The Romania men's national basketball team (Romanian: Echipa națională de baschet a României) represents Romania in international basketball competition. The team is administered by the Romanian Basketball Federation (FRB). Romania has qualified for the EuroBasket 18 times throughout their history.
In May 2018, the Romanian Basketball Federation's board of directors decided to entirely reform the system. Liga I was dissolved and the Liga Națională was split into three groups; A, B, and C. Group designation depeneds on performance, financial, and infrastructural criteria. [ 1 ]

The 2022–23 Liga Națională season is the 73rd season of the Liga Națională, the highest professional basketball league in Romania. This will be the season with 18 teams divided into two conferences, placed by the previous regular season's standing. [1] U-BT Cluj-Napoca are the defending champions.
The project is based on the idea of a team formed by young Romanian basketball players, helped by experienced foreigners. In the first season, the team finished 8th, the best ranking in the recent years for the club and managed to reach the Romanian Cup Final Four.

The Romanian Basketball Cup is an annual cup competition for Romanian basketball teams. The competition is played by first preliminary rounds, and then a Final Four ; since 2016 the game to determine the third-placed team will not be played.
