Maben is an unincorporated community in Wyoming County, West Virginia, United States, along the Slab Fork and West Virginia Route 54. [1] The community is home to Integrated Resources of Wyoming County as well as the county's only 7 Eleven. The community was named after John C. Maben, the original owner of the town site. [2]
In 1863, West Virginia's counties were divided into civil townships, with the intention of encouraging local government. This proved impractical in the heavily rural state, and in 1872 the townships were converted into magisterial districts. [6]
