Hockey India was established on 20 May 2009 and is affiliated to the International Hockey Federation (FIH), the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) and the Asian Hockey Federation (AHF). Hockey India, with the assistance of the Sports Authority of India and Department of Sports, trains players at sub-junior, junior and senior level.

The 2024–25 Hockey India League, known as the Hero Hockey India League for sponsorship reasons is the sixth season of the Hockey India League. It will be held from 28 December 2024 to 1 February 2025. [1] On 10 April 2023, Hockey India announced Big Bang Media Ventures as its exclusive commercial and marketing partner agency. [2]
