Beloved is a 1987 novel by American novelist Toni Morrison. Set in the period after the American Civil War , the novel tells the story of a dysfunctional family of formerly enslaved people whose Cincinnati home is haunted by a malevolent spirit .
He later joined the weekly Mingguan Melayu - in 1952, its daily counterpart Utusan Melayu began publishing his first poems and stories on both these newspapers. After Malaya's independence in 1957, he lived in Kuala Lumpur and worked in the national language regulatory board, the Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka until 1985.
