Collier Memorial State Park is a state park in southern Oregon. The park is operated and maintained by the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department. It is located on U.S. Highway 97, approximately 30 miles (48 km) north of Klamath Falls and 105 miles (169 km) south of Bend. The park covers 146 acres (59 ha) along the Williamson River.
The state parks offer many outdoor recreation opportunities, such as overnight camping facilities, day hiking, fishing, boating, historic sites, astronomy, and scenic rest stops and viewpoints. Oregon State Parks celebrated its 100-year anniversary in 2022 with events throughout the year.
Collier Memorial State Park, features a campground and outdoor museum of historic logging equipment dating to the 1880s along the shores of the Williamson River. [1] Fort Rock Cave, has served as a vital part of the Native American lifestyle. Jackson F. Kimball State Recreation Site, a pristine site located at the headwaters of the Wood River.
The park has ten primitive campsites near the headwaters lagoon. Toilet facilities are primitive and potable water is not available in the park. [2] There is a popular horse trail that begins at Collier Memorial State Park that leads through the forest to Kimball State Recreation Site.
Amenities include an RV park, four pavilion picnic shelters, a boat ramp, and a full-facility campground with youth, group and primitive campsites. The park has a number of trails. A 13.6-mile (21.9 km) canoe trail that flows down the Blackwater River through a mangrove forest. A 6.5-mile (10.5 km) hiking trail runs through the park.
