Sheridan College offers certificate programs; program tracks that prepare students to transfer to a four-year college or university; and associate degrees in the arts, science, and applied science. Students may also choose to enroll in career training, professional development courses, or vocational/technical programs.
Sheridan College was established in 1967. The School of Graphic Design was located in Brampton, Ontario until 1970, when it moved to the new campus in Oakville, Ontario. The Brampton campus was a converted public high school that had previously been in condemned status until re-fitted for use by Sheridan College.
The college then decides whether or not to extend an offer of admission (and possibly financial aid) to the student. The majority of colleges admit students to the college as a whole, and not to a particular academic major, although this may not be the case in some specialized programs such as engineering and architecture.
