Colonial High School is a public high school located in Orlando, Florida, United States. Colonial serves grades 8–12 within the neighborhoods of Azalea Park , Engelwood Park, Rio Pinar, Lake Fredrica, Ventura, Pershing, Vista East, Vista Park and parts of unincorporated Orange County .
It is based in the Ronald Blocker Educational Leadership Center in downtown Orlando. [2] OCPS is the eighth-largest school district in the United States and the fourth-largest in Florida. Groundbreaking for Colonial Plaza began in mid-1954. The site chosen for the center was the corner of Colonial Drive (Florida State Road 50) and Bumby Avenue, on land previously used as a cow pasture. Overall construction costs were estimated at $3,000,000 (equivalent to $34,037,175 in 2023).

Area code 407 was created in 1988 in a split of area code 305, [1] Florida's original area code of 1947. When assigned, 407 included not only most of Central Florida, but also the Palm Beaches and Treasure Coast. In 1996, Palm Beach, Martin, Indian River, and St. Lucie counties were split from the number plan area and received area code 561.
