Another mountain, adjacent to Interstate 11 in Henderson, is commonly called Black Mountain, including by the city of Henderson. It is actually an unnamed peak.
The MacDonald Highlands are a series of residential neighborhoods in Henderson, Nevada [1] in the foothills of Black Mountain. The community is part of the greater Las Vegas Valley. [2] The community is situated approximately 15 miles (25 km) [3] from the Las Vegas Strip and 20 miles (32 km) [4] from downtown Las Vegas.
The Black Mountains, a mid-Miocene formation, [2] in Nevada are a series of rugged, arid rocky volcanic mountains ranging in elevations to 3310 ft. The range lies on the north shore of Lake Mead , at the southwest corner of the Overton Arm , about 25 mi south of Overton, Nevada .

The southern portion consists of a north–south mountain range that drops off gradually to numerous valleys, foothills and sloping bajadas on the east and west flanks. Elevations range from 2,500 ft (760 m) in the northwest portion of the area to 7,026 ft (2,142 m) at McCullough Mountain in the center of the wilderness.
