The challenge to date with PAT for pharmaceutical manufacturers is knowing how to start. A common problem is picking a complex process and getting mired in the challenge of collecting and analyzing the data. The following criteria serve as a basic framework for successful PAT roll-outs: (From A PAT Primer) Picking a simple process.
Process flow diagrams (PFD): Typically more complex diagrams of major unit operations as well as flow lines. They usually include a material balance, and sometimes an energy balance, showing typical or design flowrates, stream compositions, and stream and equipment pressures and temperatures. It is the key document in process design. [1]
The use of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning and Deep Learning techniques in Process Control is also considered as an advanced process control approach in which intelligence is used to further optimize operational parameters. Operations and Logics in process control systems in oil and gas and for decades are based only on physics ...
Value-stream mapping, also known as material- and information-flow mapping, [1] is a lean [2]-management method for analyzing the current state and designing a future state for the series of events that take a product or service from the beginning of the specific process until it reaches the customer.
The process scheduler is a part of the operating system that decides which process runs at a certain point in time. It usually has the ability to pause a running process, move it to the back of the running queue and start a new process; such a scheduler is known as a preemptive scheduler, otherwise it is a cooperative scheduler. [5]
When the GPU begins the stream processing, it will gather all the various attributes in a single set of parameters (usually this looks like a structure or a "magic global variable"), performs the operations and scatters the results to some memory area for later processing (or retrieving).
The process capability is a measurable property of a process to the specification, expressed as a process capability index (e.g., C pk or C pm) or as a process performance index (e.g., P pk or P pm). The output of this measurement is often illustrated by a histogram and calculations that predict how many parts will be produced out of ...
