CentrePort Canada is a tri-modal dry port and Foreign Trade Zone located partly in northwest Winnipeg, Manitoba (CentrePort South) and partly in the Rural Municipality of Rosser (CentrePort North), and situated adjacent to the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport (YWG). [1]
Provincial Trunk Highway 190 (PTH 190), also known as CentrePort Canada Way, is a provincial highway in the Canadian province of Manitoba.It connects the Perimeter Highway with Winnipeg Route 25 (Inkster Boulevard) in the City of Winnipeg; part of the highway passes through the neighbouring Rural Municipality of Rosser.
CentrePort Canada lies primarily in the eastern part of the RM, inside the Perimeter Highway. A small portion of Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport also lies within the RM of Rosser. Water services are provided by the Cartier Regional Water Cooperative.
The 23,225-square-metre (249,990 sq ft) facility is located east of the main terminal building, just north of Wellington Avenue. It is responsible for processing all mail and parcels for Manitoba, and some parts of Ontario and Northern Canada. Three hotels are located on site, adjacent to the main airport terminal.
Approximately 8,100 ha (20,000 acres) of land to the north and west of the airport has been designated as an inland port, CentrePort Canada, and is Canada's first Foreign Trade Zone. It is a private sector initiative to develop the infrastructure for Manitoba's trucking, air, rail and sea industries. [ 239 ]
