Gaylord Palms Resort & Convention Center is a hotel and convention center, opened in Kissimmee, Florida, on February 2, 2002. It also acts as the de facto convention center for Osceola County, Florida, until plans for their own dedicated convention center are realized.
The company was also named after the founder. The company's first hotel was opened in 1984 near the entrance of Walt Disney World in Kissimmee, Florida. [1] Through the late 1990s and early 2000s the properties were slowly sold off to other hotel companies. The final Wilson World Hotel closed in Dallas, Texas in June 2003. [2]
The Gaylord Hotels division opened Gaylord Palms Hotel & Convention Center in Kissimmee, Florida in 2002. [34] The Gaylord Opryland Texas Resort & Convention Center opened in April 2004.
