Potter County is a county in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. As of the 2020 census , its population was 16,396, [ 1 ] making it the fifth-least populous county in Pennsylvania. Its county seat is Coudersport . [ 2 ]

The Potter County Courthouse was designed by William Bell of Warren County, with the construction beginning in 1851 and being completed in 1853. [2] In 1888, the roof of the courthouse was altered, leading to controversary over the "squandering" of tax money on a relatively new courthouse. [ 2 ]
Coudersport is a borough in and the county seat of Potter County, Pennsylvania. [5] It is located approximately 110 miles (180 km) east by south of Erie on the Allegheny River . The population was 2,371 at the 2020 census.
When Potter County was created on December 5, 1810, the whole county was in one township, Eulalia Township, Pennsylvania. The next division leading to Sharon Township was the organization of Roulette Township, on January 29, 1816.
