Firestone Tire and Rubber Company is an American tire company founded by Harvey S. Firestone (1868–1938) in 1900 initially to supply solid rubber side-wire tires [2] for fire apparatus, [3] and later, pneumatic tires for wagons, buggies, and other forms of wheeled transportation common in the era.
Wheels offered for the H7 include either 19- or 20-inch alloys, depending on the trim levels. The H7 is also running 235/55 R19 or 255/45 R20 tires. [3]
There were also comparable tires from competitors such as the Firestone Sup-R-Belt Wide Oval and Atlas Plycron 2plus2. [ 6 ] [ 7 ] Goodyear and comparable bias-belted tires began appearing as standard or optional equipment on most 1969-model passenger cars [ 4 ] and nearly all 1970 through 1974 models.
Harvey Samuel Firestone Sr. (December 20, 1868 – February 7, 1938) was an American businessman, and the founder of the Firestone Tire and Rubber Company, one of the first global makers of automobile tires.
Firestone then accused Ford of withholding safety data concerning the design of the Explorer. After Firestone agreed to the initial recall of 14.4 million tires on August 9, 2000, NHTSA continued to push Firestone to recall all ATX, ATX II, and Wilderness AT tires regardless of where they were manufactured.
