The Chinese University of Hong Kong[b] (CUHK) is a public research university in Sha Tin, New Territories, Hong Kong. Established in 1963 as a federation of three colleges – Chung Chi College, New Asia College, and United College, [3] it is Hong Kong's second-oldest university, with the first being the University of Hong Kong.
Applicants must be of P.R. China nationality, including citizenship of the Special Administrative Region of China - Hong Kong and Macao. Applicants must not have received any financial support from the Chinese government, such as the CSC scholarship, during their studies. Applicants must not have received this award previously.
