May 21, 2022. #2. I think that coding I50.20 and I50.30 are correct. When I code this from an encoder, it does not prompt for grade level. I found as follows: Failure -> Heart -> Search for type -> Diastolic -> Diastolic Heart Failure (other/unspecified) -> I50.30 Unspecified Diastolic (congestive) Heart Failure.

Best answers. 17. Jun 15, 2021. #2. This is from the first quarter 2009 Coding Clinic, but aside from the reference to ICD-9 code, the information is still current. In ICD-10, 'diastolic dysfunction' without further specification is coded as I51.9 - Heart disease, unspecified. Someone in your organization probably needs to educate the providers ...
Left Ventricular Diastolic Dysfunction - pre heart failure, preserved. Posted by JohnWBurns @johnwburns, Sep 22, 2016. I'm thinking here of people with a decline in left ventricular function with possibly associated symptoms like dyspnea on exertion and fatigue, but who still have a preserved ejection fraction, say >= 45%.
