The Great Himalaya Trail on Wheels (GHT on Wheels) is the first successful solo-mountain biking expedition on the upper (high) route of the Great Himalaya Trail (GHT) in Nepal, accomplished by Nepali mountain biker and adventurer, Mangal Krishna Lama, who is also a guide and former National athlete.
In recent years, up to 75% [3] of the original Annapurna Circuit route has been impacted by the construction of new roads linking the region's villages. In response, Nepalese trekking guide Prem Rai has led the creation of the Natural Annapurna Trekking Trails (NATT), consisting of various side routes that avoid much of the new roads.
The trails descends through a pleasant oak forest, past some houses and lodge on the left, Chisapani (7,200 ft; 2,200 m), [3] meaning ‘’cold water’’, to a flat portion where another trail joins from the right and a road crosses Ina clear weather there are good view of the Himalaya to the north and in the spring rhododendrons bloom.
In 2012, the Mardi Himal Trek hiking route was opened, following a ridge towards the summit, with lodges and teahouses open to an elevation of 3,550m, with a further climb to "Base Camp" at 4,500m. The peak itself is classified by the Nepalese government as a "trekking peak" and is offered by many expedition companies.

The hike to the summit from the base camp is 9 kilometers in total, taking 5 to 6 hours of time. The climb along the southwest face does not need any fixed ropes, but crampons will be useful. The mountains from Yala Peak summit are Sisapangma (China’s 8000m peak), Langtang Lirung, Ganesh, Dorje Lukpa, and Gangchempo.
