Boneyard is a 2024 American crime thriller film directed by Asif Akbar, produced by Colin Bates, Asif Akbar, and Vincent E. McDaniel, and starring Mel Gibson and 50 Cent. It is based on the West Mesa murders. The film was released in select theaters in the United States on June 5, 2024, and was released on video on demand on July 2.
The Boneyard marked the directorial debut of James Cummins who had previously worked under the likes of Chris Walas and Stan Winston [1] When Phyllis Diller was trying out different looks for the character of Miss Poopinplatz, Diller's wig fell off by accident and with Cummins encouragement Diller did the role without a wig and later incorporated the lack of a wig into her stand-up.
