Makwanpur District (Nepali: मकवानपुर जिल्ला; Listen ⓘ), in Bagmati Province, earlier a part of Narayani Zone, is one of the seventy-seven districts of Nepal. The city of Hetauda serves as the district headquarters and also as the provincial headquarters.
Makwanpur 1 parliamentary constituency incorporates Bagmati Rural Municipality, Bakaiya Rural Municipality, wards 1–4 Makawanpurgadhi Rural Municipality and, wards 2, 4–10 and 12–18 of Hetauda Sub-metropolitan City.

The Chisapani Gadhi is a fort in Bhimphedi, Makwanpur that was built around 1744–1745 AD. [1] The fort was controlled by the Sen Dynasty but after the Gorkha Kingdom (later became known as the Kingdom of Nepal) captured Makwanpur they used the fort for the military, administrative, trade and immigration purposes.
