Michael S. Okun (born July 5, 1971) is an American neurologist, neuroscientist and author. He is the co-founder and director of the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases at University of Florida Health [2] and is also the chair of the Department of Neurology at the University of Florida and the Medical Director/Advisor for the Parkinson's Foundation. Patricia Limousin is a French neurologist recognized for her contributions to the treatment of movement disorders, particularly through deep brain stimulation (DBS). She earned her medical degree from the University of Grenoble and completed her PhD in neuroscience at the University of Lyon I in 1998, focusing on DBS of the subthalamic nucleus as a treatment for Parkinson's disease.
