Mechanical fuel injection, 'K' stands for German: "Kontinuierlich", meaning continuous.Commonly called 'Continuous Injection System (CIS) in the USA. K-Jetronic is different from pulsed injection systems in that the fuel flows continuously from all injectors, while the fuel pump pressurises the fuel up to approximately 5 bar (73.5 psi).

  4. Fuel injection - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fuel_injection

K-Jetronic was a mechanical injection system, using a plunger actuated by the intake manifold pressure which then controlled the fuel flow to the injectors. [55] Also in 1974, Bosch introduced the L-Jetronic system, a pulsed flow system which used an air flow meter to calculate the amount of fuel required. L-Jetronic was widely adopted on ...

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_R107_and_C107

US models sold from 1976 through 1979 used the Bosch K Jetronic system, an entirely mechanical fuel injection system. From 1974, the front and rear bumpers were dramatically lengthened, by 8 inches (203 mm) on each end, to comply with the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration regulations that mandated no damage at an impact of 5 ...

The M110.98x and .99x engines are fuel-injected engines, with Bosch D-Jetronic up to the .983 and K-Jetronic from the .984. All M110 engines have a displacement of 2.7 L; 167.6 cu in (2,746 cc) and a bore and stroke of 86 mm × 78.8 mm (3.39 in × 3.10 in). Firing order is 1-5-3-6-2-4. Amount of coolant in the radiator was 11 litres (2.9 US gal ...

  9. Talk:Fuel injection - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Fuel_injection

The Bosch K-Jetronic "continuous injection" was a mechanical system with an electric pump (electro-mechanical fuel injection?) and provided a continuous flow of fuel into the engine. There was also the Bosch L-Jetronic "air-flow controlled injection" which was the first reliable electronic system (as far as I know) but this clearly isn't relevant.
