Connect6 (Chinese: 六子棋; Pinyin: liùzǐqí; Chinese: 連六棋;Japanese: 六目並べ; Korean: 육목) introduced in 2003 by Professor I-Chen Wu at Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering, National Chiao Tung University in Taiwan, is a two-player strategy game similar to Gomoku.
Gomocup is a worldwide tournament of artificial intelligences (AI) playing Gomoku and Renju.The tournament has been played since 2000 and takes place every year. [1] As of 2016, [2] it is the most famous and largest Gomoku AI tournament in the world, with around 40 participants from about 10 countries.
The earliest published book on gomoku that can be verified is the Gomoku Jōseki Collection (五石定磧集) in 1856. [8] The name "gomoku" is from the Japanese language, in which it is referred to as gomokunarabe (五目並べ). Go means five, moku is a counter word for pieces and narabe means line-up.
