R-values are about heat transfer by whatever means from one control volume to another. Jdpipe 01:59, 16 November 2008 (UTC) R value is defined by the engineering equation where it is used to calculate conductive heat transfer. The equation that uses R value definitely does not calculate thermal radiation heat transfer.
