Suomisaundi (English: "Finnish sound"), also known as suomisoundi, suomistyge or spugedelic trance, is a style of psychedelic trance that originated in Finland around the mid-1990s. [1] "Suomisaundi" literally means "Finnish sound" in Finnish. Suomisaundi's biggest proponents are said to be Tim Thick and his label Thixx'n'Dixx. [1]
Since the first Earthdance in 1997, with 22 cities in 18 countries, more than 700 events have been held in over 50 countries. Shiwa 2000 is a Suomisoundi-style psychedelic trance group from Finland. The regular members of the assemblage are Rick Timebees and Tim Thick, who is also familiar from Texas Faggott and Mandalavandalz. There has also appeared some visiting musicians on the albums of the Shiwa 2000, for example Bill Tema aka MC Vittumeitsi.
