Oswego (/ ɒ s ˈ w iː ɡ oʊ /) is a village in Kendall and Will counties, Illinois, United States. Per the 2020 census , the population was 34,485. [ 3 ] Oswego is the largest municipality in Kendall County.

Oswego Township occupies the 6-mile-square-plus additional land to the south of the Fox River in northeast corner of Kendall County, Illinois. As of the 2010 census, its population was 50,870 and it contained 17,914 housing units.

In 2005, the combined marching bands of Oswego High and Oswego East marched the 116th Tournament of Roses parade, the only band from Illinois to march at the event. [9] OHS offers many co-curricular activities and clubs including six student band classes, several choirs, a drama club, and service organizations.
Both West Aurora High School, of the Upstate Eight Conference, [3] and Yorkville High School, of the former Northern Illinois Big 12 Conference, [4] were admitted to the SPC in 2018 and began conference play during the 2019–20 school year.
The district serves Oswego, Aurora, Montgomery, Plainfield, Yorkville, and Joliet. Total enrollment as of 2012 was about 18,000 students. Oswego 308 is the seventh largest public school district in Illinois out of 868. [2]
Oswego East High School is a part of the Southwest Prairie Conference and the Illinois High School Association. OEHS has a rivalry with Oswego High School. The matchup between the two schools is known as the "Crosstown Classic". [3] Notable athletes include Noah Schultz, professional baseball player for the Chicago White Sox.
