Warrington Central is one of three main railway stations serving the town of Warrington in Cheshire, England.It is located on the southern route of the Liverpool to Manchester Lines, the former Cheshire Lines Committee route between Liverpool and Manchester; the station is situated approximately halfway between the two cities.
The station has a ticket office on the southbound platform, which is staffed six days a week on a part-time basis (Monday - Friday 06:35 - 13:05, Saturday 07:35 - 13:55); outside of these hours, tickets must be bought in advance, on-line or on the train.

The station was built by the West Cheshire Railway, a constituent of the Cheshire Lines Committee (CLC) [1] and opened to passengers on 22 June 1870. [2] The CLC continued to operate both goods and passenger services from the station, unaffected by the railway grouping of 1923, until the railway nationalisation of 1948.
