Thiruvananthapuram Central (station code: TVC, [2]) is an NSG–2 category railway station in Thiruvananthapuram railway division of Southern Railway zone. [3] It is a major railway station that serves the city of Thiruvananthapuram, the capital of Kerala.
With 104 stations in its territorial jurisdiction, it is the fourth largest out of six divisions in Southern Railway. It is the southernmost railway division of India and manages 625 km of route track and 108 railway stations in the states of Kerala and Tamil Nadu.
The station is situated 1.2 km from the NH 66 Thiruvananthapuram–Kanyakumari bypass road and 8 km from Central bus station Thiruvananthapuram. Kerala State Road Transport Corporation operates a low-floor AC feeder bus from Thiruvananthapuram North terminal to Thiruvananthapuram city for the benefit of long-distance passengers.
