The 2023–24 Arizona Coyotes season was the 45th season for the National Hockey League (NHL) franchise that was established on June 22, 1979, the 28th of the Coyotes after relocation from Winnipeg following the 1995–96 season, [2] and the 52nd and final overall season for the original Jets/Coyotes organization, including their World Hockey Association (WHA) years.
The team failed to gain long-term stability despite the relocation to the state of Arizona, enduring multiple changes in ownership and struggling for a profitable arena for home games. The final Coyotes home game at the arena was played April 29, 2022, a 5–4 comeback win against the Nashville Predators. After the season, the Coyotes moved their home games to Mullett Arena at Arizona State University , where they played for the 2022–23 and 2023–24 seasons.

The Coyotes have struggled to score almost since the day they arrived from Winnipeg in 1996 and this season has been no different — Arizona is 25th in the NHL with 2.87 goals per game.
The Coyotes closed Gila River Arena by beating the Predators, 5–4, after trailing 4–0, in the season finale. Coincidentally, the Predators beat the then-Phoenix Coyotes, 3–1, in their first home game at Gila River Arena on December 27, 2003. It was known as Glendale Arena at the time.
