Both municipalities had been part of Ridgefield Township, a township that had existed in southeastern Bergen County, that was created in 1871. Ridgefield Borough and Ridgefield Park Village were each formed from portions of Ridgefield Township in 1892. Several more boroughs were formed from Ridgefield Township before the end of the 19th century.

Overpeck County Park is an 811-acre (3.28 km 2) county park in Bergen County, New Jersey, with major sections in Leonia, Palisades Park, Ridgefield Park, and Teaneck, surrounding Overpeck Creek, a tributary of the Hackensack River. [1] The Overpeck Creek flows to the west of the Henry Hoebel Area and the South Area of the park.

Paulison-Christie House is located in Ridgefield Park, Bergen County, New Jersey, United States. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on January 10, 1983. The house was built about 1775 by John Paulison who owned 150 acres in what was then known as "Old Hackensack."
