The biological corridors in Bhutan was declared as a "Gift to the Earth from the people of Bhutan" by Her Majesty Queen Mother Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck. [19] Currently, the total area covered by the eight biological corridors is 3,307.14 km 2. The corridors have been numbered from 1 to 8 in order to manage them effectively.
