Up until 2010, the outdoor world trial championship has been won by 6 different pilots from the UK , 5 from Spain, 2 from Finland and France, and 1 from Belgium, Germany, United States, Japan and Sweden.

Ryan Leech (born February 20, 1979, in British Columbia, Canada) is a professional trials mountain bike rider. [1] At age 13 he began racing cross-country and downhill mountain bikes. In the spring of 1996, Leech joined Team ORB which subsequently changed into The Norco Factory Team [2] in 1998.
The UCI Trials World Championships were held for the first time in 1986. [3] Until 1999 they were held separately from the UCI World Championships in other cycling disciplines. From 2000 to 2016 they were combined with the world championships in other mountain-biking disciplines and run as the UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships.
